Hello! My name is Cassie. I’m the creator of Honey Dew Gifts, a wife, and a mom to two energetic twin boys and a very sassy baby girl!
Whether you first encountered our home goods and décor products on our Etsy shop, Amazon.com, or our Instagram page, I’m so excited you’ve found us! This bio is here to let you know a little more about me and some background on our shop.
So, sit down, grab a cup of coffee (or a glass of wine! 😉), and I’ll tell you a bit more about me and how Honey Dew Gift shop got started.
Born and raised in the Midwest, I earned my journalism degree with concentrations in sociology, history, and English in 2001 from the University of Nebraska.
However, after a couple of years, I decided that journalism wasn’t something I wanted to do as a career. I went into business administration and sales, working with several companies until I began working for 1000bulbs.com as their account manager in 2011. My experience with them really taught me the ins and outs of running a successful eCommerce company. My years at this company gave me the inspiration and confidence to do something I’d wanted to do for a long time… start my own eCommerce business.
So, in December 2015, I submitted the registration request for my company, a little brand I called “Honey Dew Gifts.” My idea for this eCommerce shop was to create an online space where people could come for home décor and gifts that had good quality, good selection, and good humor with bargain prices. Now, over five years later, that’s still the basis of what we do here!
In the midst of starting, planning, and running my own business, I had my two twin boys, Braxton and Jackson. A huge motivating factor in my decision to create a high-quality ecommerce business was that I could work largely from home and be there to be with my family. Before I became a business owner, my work commute was an hour each way. I wasn’t able to spend quality time with my husband, Bobby, and my twins. I was constantly exhausted and I felt that I didn’t have anything left to give to my family. My family is truly the center of my world. They’re the reason behind all the hard work, creativity, and dedication I put into my business.
Our brand started out small, but quickly grew into something better than I could have ever imagined! Today, our specialty eCommerce shop sells a wide variety of home goods ranging from decorative signs and kitchen hand towels to fun mugs and much more. Our brand is a wonderfully quirky mix of humor, charm, with a bit of fun-loving, slightly naughty jokes thrown in.
The mission behind our brand, no matter what we’re selling, is to create products that bring a smile to your face. That’s why I was so excited to open this shop! I love the thought that my shop and products might help brighten your day and make your house feel more like a home.
